Experience/Skills Requirements:
• 5+ years with Java
• Strong DB Skills (SQL, Sybase and/or DB2/UDB)
• Experience with a procedural SQL language
• Knowledge of scripting languages (for example: Perl, Python, and shell)
• Comfortable in a UNIX environment
• Good communication skills, team-player and strong desire to learn
Position Description:
Global Investment Research (GIR) performs fundamental analysis of individual companies, sectors, and entire economies. It produces macroeconomic forecasts, reports on companies and industries, investment opinions on individual securities, strategic portfolio management recommendations, and a wide range of data products for the firm’s investing clients and for the firm’s own traders and salespeople. Global Investment Research Technology builds the software that enables these activities. GIR Technology projects include:
• Analytical tools for financial modeling and sophisticated stock screening.
• Custom document management solutions for creating, publishing, and archiving the firm’s research content.
• A web site for our clients, featuring a library of our publications and tools for working with the data produced by GIR analysts.
• Distribution systems for transmitting our research to clients inside and outside the firm.
• Reporting systems for monitoring and improving client service and ensuring regulatory compliance.
